Old Bathmate Models: What Hercules, X20, X30, X40 and X50 Are Called Now

If you have been looking for an older Bathmate model, the names can be confusing. You might search for Bathmate Hercules, Hydromax X20, Hydromax X30, Hydromax X40, Hydromax X50, or one of the older Hydromax Xtreme models, but then see newer names like Hydro 7, Hydromax 5, Hydromax 7, Hydromax 9, or HydroXtreme 11.

Bathmate has changed some model names over the years. Some older models were renamed, and some newer sizes were added later to give men a better fit. This guide explains the old model names, what they are called now, and which size each model is made for.

Old Bathmate Models Compared With Newer Names

Here is the simple breakdown of the older Bathmate names and the newer names they match.

Old Bathmate Model Newer Model Name Size Notes
Bathmate Hercules Bathmate Hydro 7 Original Bathmate model later known as Hydro 7.
Hydromax X20 Hydromax 5 For men around 3 to 5 inches erect length.
Hydromax X30 Hydromax 7 For men around 5 to 7 inches erect length.
Hydromax X30 Wide Boy Hydromax 7 Wideboy Same length range as Hydromax 7, but with more width.
Hydromax X40 Hydromax 9 For men around 7 to 9 inches erect length.
Hydromax Xtreme X20 HydroXtreme 5 Same size range as Hydromax 5, with the handball system.
Hydromax Xtreme X30 HydroXtreme 7 Same size range as Hydromax 7, with the handball system.
Hydromax Xtreme X30 Wide Boy HydroXtreme 7 Wideboy Same length range as HydroXtreme 7, but with more width.
Hydromax Xtreme X40 HydroXtreme 9 For men who need more room than the HydroXtreme 7.
Hydromax Xtreme X50 HydroXtreme 11 For men around 9 to 11 inches erect length.

The easiest way to remember it is this: Hydromax X20 became Hydromax 5, Hydromax X30 became Hydromax 7, and Hydromax X40 became Hydromax 9. For the Xtreme models, Hydromax Xtreme X20 became HydroXtreme 5, X30 became HydroXtreme 7, X40 became HydroXtreme 9, and X50 became HydroXtreme 11.

Newer Bathmate Sizes That Did Not Have Old X-Series Names

Not every current Bathmate model has an older X-Series name. Bathmate later added more sizes so men could choose a closer fit instead of jumping from one size to another.

These newer Hydromax models do not have direct old X-Series versions:

    • Hydromax 3, a smaller model for men who need a compact size.
    • Hydromax 6, a middle size between Hydromax 5 and Hydromax 7.
    • Hydromax 8, a middle size between Hydromax 7 and Hydromax 9.

This matters because the old model you searched for may not always be the best fit. For example, if you searched for Hydromax X30, the newer match is Hydromax 7. But if Hydromax 7 is slightly too large for your current size, Hydromax 6 may fit better. If Hydromax 7 is slightly too small, Hydromax 8 may be worth comparing.

    Current Bathmate Size Guide Overview

The right Bathmate size is based on your current erect length and girth. Do not choose based only on the size you want to reach. The pump should have enough room for expansion, but it should not be so large that it becomes harder to seal or control.

Current Bathmate Model Recommended Length Range Max Girth Old Model Name
Bathmate Hydromax 3 Up to about 3 inches 6 inches No old X-Series version
    Bathmate Hydromax 5 About 3 to 5 inches 6 inches Hydromax X20
Bathmate Hydromax 6 About 4 to 6 inches 6.5 inches No old X-Series version
    Bathmate Hydromax 7 About 5 to 7 inches 6.5 inches Hydromax X30
Bathmate Hydromax 7 Wideboy About 5 to 7 inches 7.5 inches Hydromax X30 Wide Boy
Bathmate Hydromax 8 About 6 to 8 inches 7 inches No old X-Series version
    Bathmate Hydromax 9 About 7 to 9 inches 7.5 inches Hydromax X40
Bathmate HydroXtreme 11 About 9 to 11 inches 8.5 inches Hydromax Xtreme X50

For a full breakdown of sizing, use the Bathmate size guide. It explains the current models in more detail and can help you choose the right pump based on both length and girth.

Bathmate Hercules: Now Bathmate Hydro 7

The Bathmate Hercules was one of the original Bathmate pumps. The newer name for this model is Bathmate Hydro 7.

This model is part of the original Bathmate Hydro line. It is not part of the Hydromax X-Series. That is why Hercules does not match names like X20, X30, or X40.

If you searched for Bathmate Hercules, the model to compare today is the Hydro 7. Check your current erect length and girth before choosing to make sure it is the right size.

Hydromax X-Series: What X20, X30 and X40 Are Called Now

The Hydromax X-Series included older names like X20, X30, X30 Wide Boy, and X40. Those names were later replaced with the newer Hydromax size names.

    • Hydromax X20 is now Hydromax 5.
    • Hydromax X30 is now Hydromax 7.
    • Hydromax X30 Wide Boy is now Hydromax 7 Wideboy.
    • Hydromax X40 is now Hydromax 9.

The newer Hydromax lineup also includes Hydromax 3, Hydromax 6, and Hydromax 8. These sizes were added later and do not have old X-Series names.

    Hydromax X20, Now Hydromax 5

If you searched for Hydromax X20, the newer model to compare is the Hydromax 5.

The Hydromax 5 is generally for men around 3 to 5 inches in erect length, with a max girth of about 6 inches.

This is a smaller Hydromax model. It is for men who do not need the extra room of the Hydromax 7 or Hydromax 9.

If Hydromax 5 does not look like the right fit, compare Hydromax 3 or Hydromax 6 as well. These newer sizes may fit better depending on your measurements.

    Hydromax X30, Now Hydromax 7

If you searched for Hydromax X30, the newer model to compare is the Hydromax 7.

The Hydromax 7 is generally for men around 5 to 7 inches in erect length, with a max girth of about 6.5 inches.

The old X30 was one of the most common Bathmate sizes because it fit many men well. It was bigger than the X20 but smaller than the X40. Today, that size is called Hydromax 7.

If Hydromax 7 is not the right fit, compare Hydromax 6 or Hydromax 8. These newer sizes were added to give men more options between the older size ranges.

Hydromax X30 Wide Boy, Now Hydromax 7 Wideboy

If you searched for Hydromax X30 Wide Boy, the newer model to compare is the Hydromax 7 Wideboy.

This model is for men who fit the Hydromax 7 length range but need more width. It is not a longer pump. It is a wider version of the Hydromax 7.

If your length fits the Hydromax 7 range but the standard width is too tight, the Wideboy version may be the better option.

    Hydromax X40, Now Hydromax 9

If you searched for Hydromax X40, the newer model to compare is the Hydromax 9.

The Hydromax 9 is generally for men around 7 to 9 inches in erect length, with a max girth of about 7.5 inches.

The old X40 was the larger Hydromax model for men who needed more room than the X30. Today, that size is called Hydromax 9.

Only choose this size if your current measurements need the extra room. If you are between Hydromax 7 and Hydromax 9, compare Hydromax 8 as well.

    What About Hydromax X50?

The Hydromax X50 was one of the larger old Bathmate names. It is not as simple to match as X20, X30, and X40 because the current standard Hydromax lineup commonly goes up to Hydromax 9.

If you are searching for X50 because you need a much larger pump, compare the current larger Bathmate sizes carefully. You may also want to look at HydroXtreme 11, especially if you want the handball pressure system.

Do not choose by name alone. Check the actual size range before buying.

Hydromax Xtreme Models: What the Old Xtreme Names Are Called Now

The older Hydromax Xtreme models are now part of the HydroXtreme naming system. These models include the handball system, which gives more control over pressure during use.

    • Hydromax Xtreme X20 is now HydroXtreme 5.
    • Hydromax Xtreme X30 is now HydroXtreme 7.
    • Hydromax Xtreme X30 Wide Boy is now HydroXtreme 7 Wideboy.
    • Hydromax Xtreme X40 is now HydroXtreme 9.
    • Hydromax Xtreme X50 is now HydroXtreme 11.

The HydroXtreme series is different from the standard Hydromax series. Hydromax is the standard water-based pump line. HydroXtreme adds the handball pressure system.

Hydromax Xtreme X20, Now HydroXtreme 5

If you searched for Hydromax Xtreme X20, the newer model to compare is the HydroXtreme 5.

This is the smaller HydroXtreme size. It gives men the handball pressure system in a smaller pump size.

Hydromax Xtreme X30, Now HydroXtreme 7

If you searched for Hydromax Xtreme X30, the newer model to compare is the HydroXtreme 7.

This model matches the same general size as the old X30, but with the HydroXtreme handball system.

Hydromax Xtreme X30 Wide Boy, Now HydroXtreme 7 Wideboy

If you searched for Hydromax Xtreme X30 Wide Boy, the newer model to compare is the HydroXtreme 7 Wideboy.

This is for men who fit the HydroXtreme 7 length range but need more width.

Hydromax Xtreme X40, Now HydroXtreme 9

If you searched for Hydromax Xtreme X40, the newer model to compare is the HydroXtreme 9.

This is a larger HydroXtreme size for men who need more room than the HydroXtreme 7.

Hydromax Xtreme X50, Now HydroXtreme 11

If you searched for Hydromax Xtreme X50, the newer model to compare is the HydroXtreme 11.

The HydroXtreme 11 is generally for men around 9 to 11 inches in erect length, with a max girth of about 8.5 inches.

This model is only for men who need that much room. If your current size does not require it, a smaller model will usually be easier to use.

    Hydro vs Hydromax vs HydroXtreme

Bathmate model names can sound similar, but Hydro, Hydromax, and HydroXtreme are different product lines.

    Bathmate Hydro

The Hydro line is tied to the original Bathmate design. The old Bathmate Hercules later became the Bathmate Hydro 7.

    Bathmate Hydromax

The Hydromax line came from the older Hydromax X-Series. This is where names like X20, X30, X30 Wide Boy, and X40 fit.

The current Hydromax lineup includes Hydromax 3, Hydromax 5, Hydromax 6, Hydromax 7, Hydromax 7 Wideboy, Hydromax 8, and Hydromax 9.

You can compare standard models in the Hydromax collection.

    Bathmate HydroXtreme

The HydroXtreme line includes the handball pressure system. Older names like Hydromax Xtreme X20, X30, X40, and X50 now match newer HydroXtreme names.

You can compare HydroXtreme models in the HydroXtreme collection.

    Choosing the Right Bathmate Size

Once you know the newer name for the older Bathmate model, the next step is choosing the right size.

Use your current erect length and girth as the guide. A pump that is too large can be harder to seal and control. A pump that is too small can feel tight or restrictive.

For a full breakdown, use our Bathmate size guide. It explains the current model sizes in more detail and can help you choose between Hydromax 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, Wideboy models, and HydroXtreme sizes.
